02/01/2013 Nickel Stock Market
The highest price of nickel in history dates back to May 2007, when it was 25,51 USD per lb (54.050 USD each ton). Today's scenery is completely different, price is fluctuating, being today 17.190 USD. London Metal Exchange (LME - reference market for non-ferrous metals) quotations confirm the negative trend due to a combination of structural issues following the global financial crisis and the slowdown of the world economy. Negative pressure was also caused by the US dollar, sensibly rising against euro.
